Forthcoming dance video

Alicia is hoping for a new digital camera for Christmas but until that time she needs to wait for Lee to help her format a video clip of Hannah's spring dance recital to post to the blog. We will get it up ASAP!

Brynne and Hannah soccer fans

Keegan and Elena had side by side games for the last day of soccer season so we sat between the fields and Hannah and Brynne played cheerleaders.

Keegan at soccer

Mom likes soccer best but dad likes baseball. After all his injuries at baseball, Keegan is agreeing with mom. However, his dad was a great coach for his baseball team and both had some great fun, like when Keegan hit a double. These are his soccer pics.

Hannah and Kaitlyn at the Jr High Awards ceremony

Hannah earned an award for being in the top 10th percentile on the IOWA standard tests in 6 out of 6 subjects! (She missed high honors for the year by about 2 points... she earned one 'A-'). She is a smarty pants but according to big sister, Anne, who made honor roll herself this entire school year, she is a true blonde.

Keegan playing baseball

Keegan's first season of "real" baseball has provided fun, exercise, new friends, tears and a nice shiner. He has been brave and kept with the game despite being hit by the ball a couple of times. He is a good hitter and the team's fastest base runner!

Elena soccer pictures

Elena's first season at soccer provided lots of fun, exercise and new friends.

Anne and friends jamming

Anne has some incredibly talented musical friends. She herself is a singer, songwriter and self-taught guitarist who has recorded her first CD. Copies are very expensive, due to their scarcity and Anne's shyness.

Here they are practicing in our music room with Anne on her new electric guitar.

Lee and Alicia 17th anniversary picture

We had a fun anniversary date and came home to a "Happy Anniversary" sign made of chocolate chip cookies. This is a great picture of Lee and wouldn't have been too bad of Alicia if she could just keep her eyes open! She was 0 for 10 that night including the one where Lee is trying to hold them open for her!

She served skillet cornbread and taught visitors about Arkansas rich natural resources, like diamonds.

Easter outfits

Elena after her orchestra concert

Her shirt says, "Here comes treble"

Dad and Keegan

We love taking "dress-up" family pictures with Keegan. He is always so cooperative!

Keegan and Jim, his lizard

Keegan caught his pet lizard during our visit to Claifornia. He takes good care of him by feeding him PLENTY of meal worms and turning his heat lamp on for him every morning. Also, Jim gets a lot of affection.

Gang at Zion's

We stopped at Zion's National Park yesterday on our way home from our whirlwind trip to Vegas/California. Fun but windy-hence the tousled hair.

Anne and Brynne at Zion's

Group shots

Got them to hold still for a couple of minutes. Brynne lasted half the time.

Kids at the beach

Brynne made soup (seaweed and sand varieties-yummy!-I tried them both). Keegan collected shells and rolled in the sand. The older girls braved the chilly water and jumped in the waves.

Anne and Tiffany

Another one of Anne's photographic experiments....with jaundice? Just kidding. It is a cool effect and I better post this before she presses the "delete" button and eliminates my clever comment.

Anne's new t-shirt

Anne bought herself a new shirt which she loves!!! The rodent is saying, "Imposter!"

Church ball

This is a picture of Hannah playing basketball with her church young women's group. Anne was (fortunately, in her mind) absent on the day Lee brought the camera. We tease Hannah about her graceful basketball skills. She likes to pirouhette across the court.

This is the winter view from my kitchen window

Isn't Mt. Timpanogos beautiful?!

Keegan is guarding the 'small' kid in front of him. I think boys must experience a huge growth spurt after they turn 9. This community league combined 3rd and 4th graders on teams and you could really tell which boys were which.

Dads and daughters at activity days

Elena and Lee are in the middle in the back. I explain more about this activity in the next posting.

Elena and her piggy car

Elena went to activity days (a bi-monthly get-together for the 8-11 year old girls in our church) with her dad for a daddy-daughter event. They had fun making this piggy car in preparation for the day. She and her dad had fun together!

Keegan and Toa Lewa (Bionicle)

Keegan and the local snow gang

We now have 3 or 4 snow forts in our yard and yard tools I expect are buried until spring.

Elena in disguise

We pulled out the craft supplies to create ornaments for our 'homemade' Christmas tree and Elena expanded her craftiness to this villain disguise.

Brynne with Mr. and Mrs. Santa

A kind neighbor of ours hosted a neighborhood Christmas party and generously scheduled a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Santa. Brynne took the time to tell him that she wanted a piano and blue pajamas for her Emma Baby doll. She was also very concerned about making sure she had a present for Santa too so she helped set out cookies for him on Christmas Eve. He helped himself to the treat and left her a nice thank-you note as well as a piano (xylophone) and blue pjs for Emma.

Hannah with camera

She took this picture of herself in the mirror with her new purple camera.

It's a little blurry but the smile is genuine. She supplied us with the following 8 pictures.

Brynne with Fashion Polly

Brynne with Playmobil princess set

This gift was a surefire hit, especially since Brynne has adopted her favorite line from the "Horton Hears a Who" movie as her own, "In my world, everyone is a pony and they all eat rainbows and poop butterflies."

Brynne as Silver Mist

Dad keeps calling her, 'Sierra Mist': )

It makes her squeal.

Brynne with Tinkerbell Tea set

Now her winter gear all matches!

Christmas Dinner

We had Jared (my brother), his wife, Kelly, and their friends, Savanah and Mark for Christmas dinner. Here is a picture of the group.

House in the snow

We had our first snow about a week before Christmas and our second, third, fourth.....

Anne belongs to her high school women's choir. She had a solo at their Christmas concert last week. Videography courtesy of Elena (11).
